Current South Australian Sprintcar Champion Matt Egel returns to Speedweek competition this season and he is ready to take on some of the best Sprintcars drivers in Australia and America on what are some of his favourite tracks. After sitting out the last Summer’s edition, due to his racing commitments in Western Australia, Egel will be among the favourites to claim a feature win at some point, especially at Murray Bridge, throughout the week and he could be a dark horse for the overall series Championship.

Winning a main event on Speedweek is nothing new for Egel as he is a two-time winner on Speedweek, claiming wins at Murray Bridge and Avalon when Speedweek was part of World Series Sprintcars.

Egel will once again team up with Whyalla Car Owner Michael Brown to pilot the potent #52 Triple X chassis, a car that Egel has already driven to a feature win this season in Darwin. Outside of his A-Main victory several months ago Egel has been extremely fast and consistent in local competition having finished on the podium three times this season in three starts including runner-up results at Murray Bridge and Whyalla.

“We are really excited to get back on the road for Speedweek. We have always been consistently around the mark at all four of the tracks that Speedweek covers, and we feel very confident of some good results against some great competition. It’s a really great initiative of the organisers to comprise such a well-rounded series, which pays really well” added Team Owner Michael Brown.

With three nights of the Clay-Per-View Sprintcar Speedweek in South Australia Egel will be out to utilise his home track advantage, in addition to his home crowd support, and don’t be surprised he is able to provide the “South Aussie Posse” with a Speedweek win.
