Murray Bridge Speedway will implement a series of changes in the way race meetings are conducted and scheduled, making a proactive move in the approach to the running of Speedway events. With the entertainment industry constantly evolving, we recognise the importance of adapting to modern times and providing audiences with a more streamlined and engaging experience during major events.

Starting this upcoming season, all Sprintcar events at Murray Bridge Speedway will kick off at 6:30 PM. Cars will be directed to the infield, with Hotlaps to commence at 7:00 PM. One support division per race night will share the spotlight, ensuring a focused and exciting program for attendees.

Embracing Change for a Brighter Future

The decision to revamp the race meeting structure comes from a commitment to attracting a younger audience and revitalising interest in the sport. By offering a more compact and dynamic show, Murray Bridge Speedway aims to compete with the many other entertainment options available today. Other factors such as daylight saving time and summer heat have also influenced this change, while acknowledging the logistical challenges faced by teams and the overall race experience.

Collaboration and Community Engagement

The idea behind making these changes has been a collaborative effort, with input gathered from sprintcar teams and the state member club. This inclusive approach ensures that both competitors and fans stand to benefit from the updated format. By reducing costs for race teams and enabling race fans to enjoy events within a reasonable timeframe, Murray Bridge Speedway is dedicated to enhancing the overall experience for all involved.

Looking Ahead

While acknowledging that not all parties may immediately embrace these changes, Murray Bridge Speedway remains committed to evolving with the times, ensuring longevity and continued success in the future.

Sprintcar competitors will be able to enjoy the convenience of not needing to arrive early to secure a parking spot; the State Sprintcar body will assign designated bays for the Sprintcar competitors, ensuring that they can arrive at a later time with their spot reserved for them.

  1. I support the proposal, meetings that drag on and on, especially unnecessarily, are annoying and frustrating. Shorter nights with less dead time is what it needs to, especially for spectators with a significant travel time after the event finishes.

  2. about time someone did this well done for taking the lead it will benefit every body tracks competitors spectators now all we have to do is the same as kiwanna and allow competitors families into the pits if there allowed to do it so should all tracks

  3. Great idea to change format to the racing at The Bridge could solos and sidecars run in between the Sprintcars heats some may like some may not at least the Speedway is having a go at pleasing the fans who help pay the bills
