In a superb race, Lockie McHugh made his move from position eight to take out the 28 lap feature in Night 1 of the Sprintcars: Super 8s presented by the Rural City of Murray Bridge.

A pair of South Aussies in Brendan Quinn and Ryan Jones would take up the front row positions at the start, and it would be Jones who would take the early lead.

The race would come to stop only a few laps with Glen Sutherland going up and over in Turn 4.

Jones would skip away at the restart, before Quinn would be challenged by both Matt Egel and Brock Hallett, with McHugh and Jamie Veal also starting to make ground.

Marcus Dumesny would make contact with the fence, seeing the field come to stop with 12 laps to go.
The restart would be premature however, with Jy Corbet also colliding with fence.

Jones would hold the lead ahead of Hallett and McHugh, with Egel coming under pressure from Veal.
McHugh would make a series of brilliant passes to take the lead with 3 laps to go, before Egel would swing up high and into the fence on the back straight.

With McHugh out in front, Hallett would swoop underneath Jones on the restart, and pair would challenge for position 2 over the remaining few laps, but a slight collision with the fence would see Jones drop back slightly and Veal moving up into third.
