The Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway was in action for the first time in 2025 Saturday night with a full race program headlined by Round 2 of the Moore Saw Sharpening Triple Crown for Wingless Sprints and Round 4 of the MJS Street Stock Series.

A total of 37 Wingless Sprints took to track for Round 2 the Triple Crown but the night was all about 1 driver, Tyson Martin as he claimed four from four on the evening. After claiming both heat races he topped the points score but he made his night a little tougher as he drew an inverted six for the dash. This outcome only spurred him on as he put on a show as he went for position six to win the dash in a breathtaking drive.

He would then lead all 30 laps with Rylan Furler and Jack McCarthy completing the podium. For McCarthy it was a great recovery after dropping a heat and only qualifying for the main event after winning the B-main from position 11. Keke Falland, Anthony Tapley, Sam Martin, Harley Alexander, Joel Chadwick, Mason Merritt and Melissa Crouch completed the top 10.

It was a similar story in the Street Stocks with the night being dominated by 1 driver as South-East resident Steve Gartner making the trip up to take the MJS points away from the series regulars. Nigel Reichstein. Nigel Reichstein bagged some valuable points with a runner-up result ahead of Phil Watson, the ultra-consistent Craig Buchanan and last start winner Grant Harris. Keith Moore, Nick Hill, Kye Richardson, Anthony Buchanan and Mark Merrett rounded out the top 10 in the 30-lap final.

The Formula 500’s, Modlites and Modified Sedans were also on hand with some excellent racing produced throughout the night, with the Modlite final being one of the races of the night.

In the Formula 500’s Victorian James MacDonald making the trip worthwhile as he defeated Corey Jones and Simon Reichelt in the 15-lap finale. After finishing second in both of his heats MacDonald started on the pole and he won the drag race into turn 1 and he was never headed. Earlier the heat wins were shared by youngster Harrison Pfitzner and Corey Jones.

In the Modlites Dylan Richter continued his Murray Bridge winning streak as he got the better of Jake Armstrong and Queenslanders Kyle Honour and Callum Berling. Throughout the 15-lap decider the top four were constantly trading places but eventually Richter made the bottom groove work to edge ahead winning by a mere .160 seconds, with the podium covered by only .736!

Finally, the small Modified Sedan field was Nathan Thorne, who remained undefeated all evening. Wayne Williams would be the best of the rest as he finished second in the final ahead of Jaidyn Ruhs.
