This Saturday night, Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway will host the annual “King of the Bridge” for the open class while the “Prince of the Bridge” will also be held for the Juniors.
The “King of the Bridge” has attracted an entry list of 17 drivers including multiple Australian Champion Dylan Beveridge.
The Tasmanian is a former winner of the race back in 2023 and his victory came 12 months after finishing second, so he has a tremendous record in the race.
Joining Beveridge as interstate entries for the event are Victorians Chad Bell, Declan Robinson, Jack Hewett, Liam Russell, Zac Stevens, Corey Quick and Paddy Lewis.
After his win last week Dean Cottrell will return along with local track specialist Corey Jones, Harrison Pfitzner, Simon Reichelt, Jeff Martin and Riverland racer Darren Richter.
The local numbers will also increase with the likes of multiple Australian Street Stock Champion Anthony Beare and fellow South-East residents Brad Turnbull and Ashleigh Johnstone joining the regulars in an attempt to regain the crown, with Whyalla’s Angelo Karoussis being the last South Australian winner in 2022.
The Junior Formula 500 “Prince of the Bridge” will comprise of a field entirely from Victoria with Hugo Chivell, Cody Malley, Cruz Carlin, Flynn Annett, Chase Van Ginneken and Toby Cook all expected to compete.
Street Stocks return for Round 2 of the MJS Street Stock Series, with 30 competitors entered, as many drivers look forward to the National Title being held at the venue in February 2026.
A strong line-up of Wingless Sprints are also on the program, while Modlites and Junior Sedans complete the racing program.
Gates open at 3pm, with racing set to kick off at 4.30pm.
