Release by Speedway Sedans Australia
Murray Bridge Speedway returns to action this Saturday night with another exciting program featuring two of the venue’s most popular divisions, as the SSA Street Stocks and SSA Junior Sedans take centre stage in what promises to be an entertaining night of racing.
The Street Stocks will contest Round 1 of their season points battle thanks to Ridleys SA, in their Championship, proudly presented by MJS Traffic. The Junior Sedans will likewise race for their Championship, presented by MJS Traffic, with Round 1 of their series sponsored by Blenks Automotive and Performance and Hoolagators All American Diecast.
A quality field of 22 Street Stocks has nominated, headed by season opener winner Darren Brumfield. Brumfield was in great form when the season got underway in September, defeating Nigel Reichstein and Drew Flatman after a hard-fought feature race, and he will once again start as one of the favourites.
However, he will have plenty of challengers looking to stand atop the podium including Australian Champion Nathan Thorne.
The Junior Sedans are also expected to produce plenty of excitement after their season opener ended in frustrating circumstances.
Ryan Burns and Brodie Reichstein shared the heat race victories before a racing incident unfortunately brought the feature race to a premature conclusion, leaving plenty of unfinished business heading into this weekend.
Burns and Reichstein will again be among the favourites, but they’ll have no shortage of competition from an impressive field.
Spectator gates open at 5:00pm following pit sign-in from 1:00pm, with the ever-popular Pit Party running from 1:00pm until 5:00pm, giving fans the opportunity to meet the drivers, see the cars up close and collect autographs before racing gets underway at 6:00pm.
