The Moore’s Saw Sharpening Wingless Sprint Triple Crown Series continues this Saturday night with Round 2 taking place at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway. Despite being recently added to the calendar, to replace the round that was meant to be run at the Tolmer Speedway, the event has attracted a field of 28 drivers including the newly crowned Australian Champion and Series points leader Tyson Martin.
After dominating the previous round of the Triple Crown at Murray Bridge Martin takes a 12 point lead over Rylan Furler into Round 2. Martin is coming off a fourth placed finish in the South Australian Title at the Borderline Speedway so you can be sure he will be fired up to return to the top step in his first outing at Murray Bridge with the #A1 on the tail tank.
Third placed Keke Falland and fourth placed Harley Alexander will unfortunately not compete this weekend therefore fifth placed Sam Martin has a lot to gain on Saturday night as he attempts to climb the points ladder.
Along with the leading point scorers in the Triple Crown the field also includes the likes of Jack McCarthy, who is currently ninth in the Triple Crown points, last start Murray Bridge A-main winner Jenna Kervers, series sponsor and Whyalla State Series round winner Normie Moore, Anthony Tapley, Mason Merritt, Hayden Vickers, Bronson Mauro, Darryl Sloan and Andy Thomas.
Several interstate competitors will also make the trek to Murray Bridge with Northern Territorian Daniel Dennis making his second Murray Bridge start of the season while veteran Peter Logue and Ben Shaw will represent Victoria.
Round 2 of the Moore’s Saw Sharpening Triple Crown will also double as Round 5 of the Wingless Sprints SA State Series. Currently Anthony Tapley leads the overall pointscore in the State Series ahead of Darryl Sloan and Rylan Furler.
The final round of the Moore’s Saw Sharpening Triple Crown will be held at the Timmis Speedway in Mildura on May 3, 2025, this replaces the washed out round at the Borderline Speedway.
